Pray As One Pt. 2

If you participated in part 1 of “pray as one” then we greatly appreciate your support! Prayer is the most effective way to make Reveal a successful movement of God and your prayer makes more of a difference than you may realize. Part of prayer is being obedient to what God is doing and what God can do and, as we know, we are called to be obedient. So thank you all for participating.

Part 2

Pray As One pt. 1 consisted of an individual prayer on your own time. We asked that people stopped what they were doing for a quick moment and lift up a prayer for Reveal this year. Here is part 2:

We will be meeting on August 22nd, 2008 (the day before Reveal ‘08) at Hobgood Park Amphitheatre at 7:00PM. We will gather as one and pray as one, for God to do a revolutionary movement through Reveal this year. The prayer will only last a few short minutes and then we will all go to Woodstock Coffee House afterwards to celebrate what God is going to do.

Sunday Update

Today was a great day at Freedom! If you missed it, here are a few things that happened:

1. The auditorium got a nice little makeover with some new lights, a hazer, and some extended staging. It was great today.

2. Our FreedomGeneration meeting went really well today and we challenged the kids to do some big things. August 17th is going to rock.

3. J.R. had an awesome, yet simple message today. If you missed it be sure to check out the podcast!

4. The set-list today was a ton of fun!

Week Recap (Friday Frenzy on a Sunday)

1. Today at Freedom was amazing! The music, crowd, message, everything was phenomenal.

2. Interesting weekend trying to balance work and 4th of July weekend with the family. It definitely kept me constantly moving.

4. Took a great nap this afternoon after church. It was definitely needed after this crazy weekend. Very relaxing.

Right Around The Corner

Things have a tendency of sneaking up on me. I guess because I work on something for so long it never feels like it is getting close.

I was sitting in church on Sunday and realized that July starts in 2 days (which by now it has already started) and thought to myself: “Everything that I have been working on over the past year will be here in less than 2 months.” It was an extremely scary/awesome thought to have and pumped me up to a sense of wanting to scream with excitement in the middle of church (good thing I didn’t because I  probably would have scared some people).

Here are the 2 things:

1. FreedomGeneration starts in August and can I just say that this student ministry is going to blow the city of Acworth away. I am unbelievably excited with what God is going to do with this ministry and how the kids are going to respond to it. We already have a great group committed to helping the ministry expand and grow and I can’t wait to see what is going to happen.

2. Reveal is in about 2 months (August 23rd) and this has been the thing that has snuck up on me the fastest. It feels like yesterday when I first had the thought of doing something like this and now we are in year 2 of an amazing journey that God is just beginning to unfold in my life. If you can, MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND REVEAL ‘08 because I have this awkward/funny/amazing/ridiculous feeling about what God is going to do this year.

Pray As One

For those of you that know me an/or read my blog you may notice that I post a lot about Reveal. If you don’t know what this is then click the link and check it out for a second.

I had this idea of a huge prayer, offering, blessing, praise, celebration; a time of worship. God has been working on my heart for this years event and I have this feeling, this passion burning inside of me that God is going to blow my mind in what He is going to through this event. “The date is August 23rd, the time is 4:00, and God is going to pour Himself upon these youth” - that is the thought that I keep having over and over again.

Here Is What I Am Asking Of You:

We are going to have 2 huge prayer opportunities:

1. This will be an individual prayer and individual blessing on what God is going to do at this years event. A prayer that God is going to completely show off at this years event and capture the hearts of all the youth that attend.

–This prayer is going to be held on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 8:00PM. It will be only a few minutes long and it will be an offering to God (please pray for as long as you wish, even if it is only a quick second). I ask, if you wish to participate, to stop what you are doing at 8:00PM and pray for the youth attending, the volunteers helping, the location, that God will fill the event with His presence, His love, His power and whatever else your heart cries out. I think that this can be an amazing opportunity for us as one in Christ.

2. We are going to have a HUGE group prayer at a location to be determined. It will be on Friday, August 22nd, the night before Reveal. More information on this to come later.
